We are passionate about being socially responsible and our CSR Community initiatives are aligned to uplift on the community in which we operate in by providing employment opportunities and training capabilities by striving to add value to the communities from which we derive gain. The AKO Group Ltd prides itself with its Corporate Social Impact and procurement strategies whereby we source the majority of our seasonal produce from local vendors and farmers.
We work cooperatively alongside community groups while encouraging them to grow quality produce to the volumes we need. Also as we require the best quality possible, whenever necessary we provide good quality seed and equipment to help the communities succeed in their community development projects.
As the farmers achieve the quality and capacity we want, we often encourage them to expand their business and we buy and take their produce to other markets across our large network of operations nationwide.
Empowering our Community
In addition, we have also partnered with Cherry Uniforms & Safety Gears a 100% woman owed company with 30% or more disabled or disadvantage workforce. The Cherry Uniform Solutions factory is based in Tegeta, Dar es Salaam and produce a full range of work wear and safety garments for a wide selection of business sectors. As part of our commitment AKO Group has partnered with them in facilitating marketing, sales and distribution.
